As the school year draws to a close, students across the campus have been actively engaged in their Discovery Projects. At a time when motivation can wane as summer approaches, it has been exciting to witness students deeply immersed in their projects, uncovering fascinating information about their chosen topics.

A Discovery Project serves as a personalized, engaging endeavor designed to nurture students’ individual interests, curiosity, and talents. It provides a platform for students to explore a topic of their choice, encouraging them to delve into their passions while developing essential 21st-century skills. By emphasizing creativity, students are empowered to think innovatively, generate novel ideas, and express their unique perspectives. Communication skills are honed as they articulate their research findings and present their discoveries to peers, teachers, and potentially a wider audience. Collaboration is fostered through opportunities for students to actively engage with classmates, seeking feedback, exchanging ideas, and potentially collaborating on projects. Critical thinking is central to the process, as students analyze information, evaluate sources, solve problems, and make informed decisions throughout their Discovery Project journey. This holistic approach empowers students to take ownership of their learning, cultivate their passions, and develop essential skills that will serve them well in the 21st century and beyond.

On June 12, 2024, the school will host Discovery Project exhibitions, providing an opportunity to showcase what students have been learning. Whether it’s delving into the intricacies of fortune telling, exploring the G2 stores, or investigating ways to address the UN Sustainability goals, these projects promise to offer a window into the dynamic process of student learning. We look forward to sharing not only the final projects but also the journey of growth and development that students have experienced through this meaningful learning experience.
