Glocal Program
At Dalton, we refer to the local stream as the “Glocal Stream,” a unique blend of local and global elements with a strong emphasis on triliteracy and four languages: Cantonese, English, Mandarin, and Spanish.
Our curriculum is anchored in local educational standards, but it is deeply enriched by the Dalton Plan’s educational philosophy, centered around four key principles: independence, collaboration, responsibility, and reflection. These principles guide students in managing their academic and personal development.
In our Glocal Stream, we adapt the Dalton Plan to balance the rigorous requirements of the local curriculum while embracing its progressive elements. The Lesson and House systems remain central to our approach, while Assignments and Lab activities are integrated in smaller doses. This ensures that students meet local academic standards without sacrificing the innovative spirit of the Dalton Plan.
Beyond the core curriculum, we also offer experiential learning, global citizenship education, positive psychology, and project-based learning. Our ultimate goal is to equip students with the critical thinking skills and global perspective they need to thrive in the 21st century.
As we continue to refine this stream in collaboration with educators, we aim to positively influence the local educational landscape and create a future-ready environment for Hong Kong students.
