Dual Language Program
In the Primary school, the Dual Language program offers balanced instruction with a 50/50 split between Chinese-Mandarin and English across all subjects, including performing arts, physical education, and S.T.E.A.M.
As students transition to middle school, the dual language principles remain integral to their education. During project-based learning, students continue to engage equally with content in both Chinese and English, dedicating 50% of their time to each language. They also have the opportunity to select elective courses offered in both languages. In core subjects, there is a strategic shift in language allocation: Chinese and English Language Arts are taught separately, Math and Science are conducted exclusively in English, and Social Studies is delivered in Chinese.
The program focuses on three core pillars:
Bilingual and Biliterate
Students develop strong bilingual skills by speaking, listening, reading, and writing in both languages. This dual approach enhances understanding and allows students to engage deeply with grade-level content in both Chinese and English.
High Academic Achievement
Students consistently meet or exceed academic standards by engaging deeply with the material, asking insightful questions, and applying their knowledge effectively to new situations.
Socio-Cultural Competence
By embracing values such as benevolence, virtue, wisdom, trustworthiness, and propriety, students develop a deep understanding of diverse cultures and advocate for inclusivity, making a positive impact on society.
