What it is and Why

DSHK recognizes the power of perspective and the importance of input from experts around the world. Our connection with ICHPER-SD provides us with a global perspective on the teaching of physical education, health, and sports. The ICHPER-SD standards, in collaboration with United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), provide a strong trajectory of knowledge, skills, and behaviours to ensure that our students are healthy, well-balanced, and able to experience a fit and healthy life.Furthermore, the DSHK physical education program uses our Dual Language model, so students experience P.E. 50% of the time in English and 50% of the time in Putonghua.

Team Activities

Team activities are a wonderful way for students to learn 21st century skills such as collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking. DSHK students have the opportunity to participate in competitive teams across disciplines. Furthermore, teams help boost the school spirit, as students take great pride in representing the DSHK Lions! DSHK teams include:

  • Badminton
  • Basketball
  • Lacrosse
  • Rowing
  • Rugby

DSHK Overview

“The Dalton Plan is not a curriculum, it is a scheme of educational reorganization which reconciles the twin activities of teaching and learning. When intelligently applied it creates conditions which enable the teacher to teach and the learner to learn.”
